CP Planning is a fast growing non-profit practicing a human rights approach to community planning. Through this approach, multi-sector and multi-disciplinary collaborations guide for land use planning reform that upholds the economic, social, and cultural rights of marginalized people to have access to good housing, good jobs, an adequate standard of living, and cultural expression.
Founded in 2017, CP Planning designs, implements, and advises on national, city-wide, and neighbourhood specific affordable housing strategies to protect and increase affordable housing supply.

The CP Planning team is seeking a meticulous and dedicated professional to provide ongoing support in the role of Geospatial Mapping Specialist.
GIS
The selected consultant will primarily focus on creating custom maps, performing complex spatial analysis, and maintaining spatial databases to aid our efforts in increasing social equity. The candidate should possess the ability to translate geospatial data into easily understandable maps and visual aids for a wide diversity of audiences, and conduct spatial analysis to generate data-driven insights that can guide decision-making processes. We are able to compensate the consultant $7,200 for providing GIS services.
Story-telling
While GIS mapping is the primary service needed from the consultant, we are open to the consultant also assisting in advancing in key story-telling matters. In particular, this is to collect, document, and effectively communicate (through written and visual means) the stories of displacement of racialized communities in Ottawa, Peel, Hamilton, Kitchener-Waterloo, and Toronto. We are able to compensate the consultant an additional $7,300 for providing story-telling services.
Location
This role is primarily remote, though there may be in person meetings as needed. Preference to candidates living in Ottawa, Toronto, York Region, or Peel Region.
