CP Planning is a Black-led and federally incorporated non-profit community network building the capacity of non-profits to protect and generate affordable housing and community spaces at the scale required to meet community needs. We use coalition-building, research, policy development, capacity building, and strategic partnership development to improve the economic function of the land use planning economy.
Founded in 2017 by Cheryll Case, CP Planning is a catalyst and amplifier of city-building innovations to local and national issues.
We are proud to collaborate with leaders in cities and neighbourhoods across Ontario.
Our mission is to align public, non-profit, and private sector organizations in the land use development economy to invest in solutions that uphold the economic, social, and cultural rights of equity-denied people, ensuring access to good housing, good jobs, an adequate standard of living, and opportunities for cultural expression.
We envision a world where all people, regardless of their background, experience more joy, belonging, and well-being, grounded in the achievement of adequate housing for all.
Our Services:
We help governments, non-profits, and developers build equitable planning systems - from strategy to implementation - grounded in human rights and social solidarity.

As many sectors face automation and job loss, community-led planning is becoming one of the most important forms of future work. Local leaders are filling critical gaps—shaping housing, community spaces, and economic opportunities that protect collective well-being. Yet this work remains under-resourced despite its growing importance.
