This page is a work in progress. We have done a lot of research on the history of planning and it's relation to human rights; we also have done a lot of work practicing methods working with diverse communities and stakeholders to build systems that improve the ability for marginalized people to have access to good housing, good jobs, an adequate standard of living, and opportunities for cultural expression.
Currently, the resource page is predominantly describing the history of how processes put barriers in place. To see what communities believe their neighbourhood would look like if housing was a human right, see our Housing in Focus report.
An online community of city-builders (artists, planners, urban farmers, lawyers, teachers, tenant organizers + more). Space created by a group of BIPOC city builders who sought a safe space to share resources and build community capacity to address systemic and ongoing challenges disproportionately affecting BIPOC communities and families (for example, housing, cultural erasure, mobility and transportation quality, and exclusion).
We thoroughly enjoy bringing our insights and transformative approaches to support the work of government, philanthropic organizations, communities organizations, and planning professionals. Our unique expertise in integrating human rights into urban planning has enlightened numerous audiences and catalyzed progress beyond our imaginations.
Whether addressing housing equity, community development, or sustainable urban solutions, we tailor our engagements to meet your unique needs and contexts.
